This means they look for outstanding students with the desired raw skills and attitude such as excellent analytical skills, drive, strong communication and interpersonal skills. Diversity of thought is vital to M&G’s innovative approach. To achieve this they hire graduates with a variety of degree disciplines and work experience levels.
All schemes require a minimum 300 UCAS points (or equivalent) (340 UCAS points for the Investment scheme), and students need to be on track for a minimum 2:1 degree.

Scheme structure All graduates start in the first week of September and complete a 5 week training programme. Following this, trainees take on live projects and work in the relevant business areas. Graduates on rotational programmes join each business area for an average of 10 weeks and roll-off the scheme between the 12th and 18th month mark.

Training M&G's unrivalled training programme is specifically designed to provide technical understanding for those who do not have a financial background and further develop those that do. Areas covered include financial maths, derivatives, analytics and excel modelling.
In addition to technical skills, M&G invests in developing trainee soft skills. Areas covered include personal impact, business writing skills, stakeholder management, presentation and career management skills.
M&G also invests in your professional development by supporting you through qualifications. As a matter of course all graduates will obtain the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) plus scheme specific qualifications E.g. investment graduates are supported through the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Each graduate also has the option of taking a mentor, who is a previous graduate, as well as a buddy to provide further personalised support.
As a graduate you'll receive considerable hands on support and they will help your transition from the graduate programme into your first role setting you up to fulfil your potential as a future leader of M&G.
