"Go for it" says Abigail Scott, one of AECOM's impressive female Trainee Quantity Surveyors who is known for her hard working and strong ambitious.

Abigail started at AECOM via an exciting summer placement. after she finished her A-Levels in Maths, Physics and Biology.

"I really enjoyed the placement," says Abigail. "I decided I wanted a career in surveying so I stayed on after summer ended and joined an apprenticeship programme in quantity surveying.

Abigail gets to work on some very exciting projects at AECOM. "I've worked on hospital buildings, fire stations and a refurbishment of a listed building in the past and I'm currently working on the Bristol Arena project so my work is always varied and this keeps things interesting indeed."

On any given day, Abigail could be measuring a building for a cost plan, attending a site for a valuation, or she could be agreeing project variations.

One of her biggest achievements to date at AECOM so far has been completing her apprenticeship. "It's an amazing feeling to see two years of hard work pay off," points out Abigail.

Abigail says that AECOM is such a great company to work for because they support their people in realising their career goals. "AECOM has been so supportive and encouraging while I've been training and I know that I can truly rely on them to help me achieve whatever I set out to do in my future. And importantly, AECOM puts so much emphasis on creating a working environment that's diverse and equal , so I've never felt that I've been at any disadvantage because of my gender."
