Summary:



The Finance Department aims to provide outstanding financial support to enable sound financial decision making. The department is structured into a number of specialist teams which support a specific area of the financial activities of the University.



Our overall vision to address these aspects is to strengthen the Research Finance service provision through placing this closer to the Faculties and Academic Departments. These positions are critical to this aim to support Faculty Finance.



The Finance Faculty team provides advice and support for the Faculty for enquiries relating to departmental expenditure, budgets and for enquiries regarding research activities.



We are currently seeking an Assistant Faculty Finance Manager (Research) to support our Faculty Finance Manager. This role forms a key operational interface between departmental based research administration staff and Faculty Finance.



Its primary focus is supporting Faculty based departmental staff through helping the Faculty Finance Manager through provision of research related financial management information and advice. The role directly involves provision of sound financial support, to departments, helping them ensure that their external research funding achieves the research objectives specified by the sponsor’s terms and conditions. The role requires the

holder to be able to draw upon on a sound working knowledge of existing central operations and combining this with a closer operational understanding of specific departmental/faculty practices with the objective of helping maximise research administration effectiveness within the Faculty.
