Product Change Orders/Bills of Material Administrator

Role Purpose
This position will serve as the connection point between the Windchill computer system used by GKN Auburn Hills application engineers and commercial teams and the Manufacturing Pro computer system used by US CVJ operations. This person will work closely with Engineering and Operations to manage existing and new part numbers and create Bills of Material (BoM) information in electronic databases. The PCO/BOM Administrator will maintain and validate all reports related to Material Master, Bill of Materials, and Routings.

Key Responsibilities
Manage bills of materials and ensure consistency and accuracy of BOM.
Research and resolve problems generated by Change Request activity.
Develop, maintain, and enforce the uniform use of corporate procedures and standards as relevant to BoM Product Structure. Conduct audits to assure compliance.
Act as a liaison between Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Purchasing.
qWork in conjunction with Engineering and Operations personnel to audit BoM's of newly developed products.
Prepare for and participate in program kickoff meetings for PCO.
Perform problem analysis, identifying root causes, outlining resolution options and taking appropriate actions to resolve.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Under the direction of the Quality, Production, Supply Chain and Engineering departments, review and approve ECR Screen ECN’s generated and approved by operations and application engineering.
Convert ECN’s to Product Change Orders (PCO). Manage PCO for the three GKN USCVJ facilities entering PCO into MFGPro.
Create, modify, close on, and report follow up PCO progress until completion and implementation.
Conduct and lead PCO progress meetings with appropriate stakeholders.
Escalate open items as necessary to insure timely completion.
Support and assist departments with necessary product documentation, support and tracking documents.
Understand, support and contribute to current Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Formal qualifications required:

Must be able to understand engineering drawings and specifications
Experience in Configuration Management & BOM Life Cycle
High School Diploma or GED with 5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
Demonstrated mechanical/maintenance ability
Be proficient in math and reading

Previous experience required:

Five or more years experience in manufacturing maintenance environment with at least 3-5 years in supervision.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
Lean Enterprise experience.
Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel, MS Project, MfgPro, Kronos).
Good judgment, prioritization, negotiation, analytical, organizational, time management and problem resolution skills.
Experience in logistics or production planning is preferred, but not required.
