Export/Import Coordinator

Role Purpose
To lead, direct and administer activities related to International Traffic and Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) compliance in conjunction with GKN Aerospace company compliance and policies.

Key Responsibilities
* Maintain expertise (current knowledge) of regulations applicable to export
* Prepare application for and administer simple and complex export licenses, agreements and amendments required by regulations
* Develop, maintain and amend current GKN Export Compliance policies and procedures to comply with state and federal regulations
* Responsible for ensuring application for applicable approvals, authorizations and licenses in order to properly export GKN hardware or technical data
* Monitor, assist and provide training to GKN staff with regard to the interpretation of importing/exporting laws and regulations and applicable policies and procedures and product classification.
* Ensure proper maintenance of classification databases and other applicable electronic files
* Manage and oversee all site visitor screenings for ACS
* Act as the Empowered Official for GKN ACS
* Monitor compliance with approved licenses and agreements and track licenses forrenewal or re-submittal
* Counsels, advises and assists personnel with export licensing authorization-using knowledge of Government regulations.
* Keeps current with and interpret U.S. Government regulations
* Interfaces with freight forwarders, U.S. Customs, Department of State and Department of Commerce Officials to resolve or answer problems concerning GKN’s export licenses and shipments
* Audits program/functional departments to ensure compliance with ITAR / EAR provisions
* Interfaces with company and outside legal representation on matters related to licenses
* Performs facility self assessment and develops and implements a Continuous Improvement Plans to address identified deficiencies
* Provides required or requested reporting to Export Control Manager and facility business head
* Supports the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations
* Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent. Relevant training and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Minimum of two (2) years of export compliance experience or a closely related discipline.

Export certification or other training is preferred.

Other Requirements: Occasional travel.
