Based in Templecombe this role will require you to work rotating shift patterns (6am -2pm and 1pm-9pm) with additional occasional night shift & Weekend working.

Due to high demand, Thales Defence Mission Systems have an opportunity for a Senior IVVQ Engineer to work in the Systems Integration Test and Support Organisation (SIT&S) based out of our Templecombe site. You will play a lead role in defining, organising and conducting a range of activities and tasks from design proving, integration and test right through to harbour acceptance and sea trials with an overall aim of ensuring customer satisfaction before final delivery and signoff. Utilising your interpersonal skills you will work cross functionally with our internal teams and also directly with the customer and end user, therefore travel to UK and Overseas locations is required.

Duties and responsibilities:
Assist in shaping and defining the IVVQ strategy for bids and projects through close-working with the Systems, Software and Hardware teams.
Produce all system test documentation and conduct associated test activities covering both the Hardware and Software entities within each System.
Collate and present test evidence captured during test activities to enable design sell off or customer acceptance.
As required, you will support platform Setting To Work (STW), Naval Weapons Harbour Trials (NWHT) & Sea Trials to ensure a smooth transition from in-house equipment delivery to Platform Trials.
Liaise with and support the Systems, Software and Hardware teams to conduct investigations and create resolutions on outstanding issues prior to delivery.
Fill in for the IVVQ Manager when required.
Skills and experience required:
Experience working as an IVVQ Engineer, Test and Integration Engineer or Integration, verification and validation Engineer.
Understanding / knowledge of the IVVQ process
Experience in the generation of Integration, Test and Acceptance strategies & plans for complex systems
Experience in the generation of test documentation (specifically writing specification and test reports)
Knowledge of electrical or electronics engineering.
Knowledge of System engineering lifecycle
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to team members, Design Authorities and varying levels of senior management.
Ability to work under pressure.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for producing, modifying or reviewing technical documents, reports, plans and spread sheets.
