Amazon is changing....We are currently looking for award-winning visual creative designers and art directors who can help us change the face of our online shopping experience.

Amazon needs to maintain a strong brand whilst also developing unique approaches for merchandising a wide variety of products in the most appealing way. If you have a world class portfolio with FMCG, branding and marketing communications, then you’ll be off to a good start. If you have strong digital experience but understand how to apply your work to any media, then you’re flying. If you can also show evidence that you understand customer behavior and how to change your designs to maximize the return to the business, then you’ll be the superstar we’re looking for.

We’re currently looking for Senior Designers/Art Directors who are highly experienced and creative coupled with a strong business mind to lead the creative direction of the team (you’ll most likely be a hands-on creative director within a big team).

Role Responsibilities
· Collaborate with designers to deliver high-quality, on-brand graphic solutions to build a superior customer experience.
· Undertake projects working alongside other designers to develop engaging customers experiences.
· Follow ideas from concept to reality, taking into account relevant design documentation, style guides, and specifications.
· Art Director campaigns and photo shoots.
· Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups.
· Participate in team meetings, ideas generation, and constructive-critique of output with the entire team.
· Present design work or ideas to other designers.

Wider scope on the role:

Summary
· These positions may be engaged in UI Design, Interaction Design, Information Architecture and Visual Design.
· These positions are expected to tackle small to medium sized projects under the ongoing supervision of a creative director or senior art director.

Scope of Responsibility
· These positions play a supporting role in projects work in our internal creative team - often confined to one business area.
· These positions will work with other designers, assisting on design tasks that incorporate best practices. Interns explore a variety of design directions before arriving at the solution.
· The positions will deliver high-quality, cohesive deliverables that are user-focused, simple and intuitive. They constantly seek guidance on design patterns. · They manage time effectively, meet deadlines and communicate needs if their schedule is in jeopardy.

Complexity of work:
· These positions require ongoing collaboration with other designers, It is key for Designers to frequently communicate their work status, show progress and seek clarification where there is ambiguity so that time and effort is not lost.
· They manage projects assigned to them, proactively engaging designers re: deadlines and requirements definition. They meet deadlines and communicate needs and trade-offs if the project is in jeopardy.
· They understand basic questions that need to be asked at the beginning of any assignment (with depth of questions increasing as complexity increases). They can ask these questions and devise the appropriate course of action with guidance from Design Specialists.
· They stay aware of the latest design patterns and draw from guidelines and standards.
· These positions always seek design guidance on complex issues.
· Their work requires attention to detail, quality of deliverables and thoroughness. Customer experience is always at the forefront.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and skill set
· Generally requires a Bachelor’s degree and meaningful industry experience though practical experience and a strong portfolio
· Requires a sound knowledge of basic design principals including typography, composition, color theory, etc. and an ability to pattern-match against existing designs.
· Requires knowledge in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, etc.) and knowledge of technologies (web, Android, iOS, etc.) required for the specific design role at Amazon.
· A strong portfolio that demonstrates excellence in graphic composition and typography.
· Strong written/verbal communication and collaborative skills.
· Desire to work in a fast-paced online environment.
· Relentless desire for good design, balanced with business and user interaction priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Leadership/people management
· Direct people management responsibilities.
· Communicates successfully with other Design Specialists.
· Team player with a positive attitude who will roll up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary to get the job done while maintaining their cool in stressful or ambiguous situations.
