Private Brands Softlines Regulatory Affairs Program Manager EU

The Health and Safety Sustainability Security and Compliance (HS3C) Global Trade Services (GTS) team helps deliver hundreds of thousands of items each day, obsessing over the import and export compliance requirements so that our customers, vendors, sellers and internal businesses can reliably send and receive a broad range of products, equipment and software.

Our Private Brands Product Compliance team is looking for a smart, energetic, hard-working, and creative candidate to join our team within our Softlines business. The successful candidate shows excellent judgment and instincts in decision making and proactively and continually improves their level of knowledge about Amazon’s business, its platform, and relevant technologies. This is an exciting and challenging position that provides Private Label Product Compliance support for the Global Supply Chain team with a primary focus on Softlines for Global Markets. This position will be located in London, UK.

We are looking for talented Senior Product Compliance Manager to support retail operations and expansion. You will enable new business opportunities by executing on a broad range of product compliance matters. You will work directly with business leadership, procurement teams, transportation operations, legal, tax and a variety of internal business partners and external vendors to drive product compliance across the supply chain. The successful candidate shows excellent judgment and instincts in decision making and proactively and continually improves their level of knowledge about Amazon’s business, its platform, and relevant technologies. The successful candidate is passionate about protecting Amazon customers, Amazon owned brands, and Amazon’s bottom line.

Key responsibilities
· Ensuring that regulatory requirements are met for Amazon Private Brands/Label Softlines products (EU focus) and support other functions such as Retail, Transportation, Customer Service, and Legal.
· Work cross-functionally and manage compliance training and awareness raising programs in retail, operations and sales teams.
· Develop best-in-class processes and systems, and drive continual improvement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Knowledge of product compliance processes and the interplay with global supply chains
· Collaboration, Influencing, Negotiation, Determination and Resiliency
· Bachelor’s degree required with a scientific focus
· 7-10 years of experience with import/export consumer product safety compliance program management and in-laboratory experience.
· Strong experience with global regulatory requirements such as: EN 71, CPSIA, FTC, CCPSA, , RSL, REACH, NOM-004, NMX, JIS, China CIQ / GB, etc.
· A mix of compliance and project management experience
· Knowledge and experience with regulatory compliance for apparel & home textiles: clothing, children's, sleepwear, bedding, sheets, men's, women's, private label
· Previous experience with influencing, consultation/advisement and improving remote operations.
· Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done
· Must be able to think creatively and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Must be able to use Excel, Word and other common desktop software applications. Must also be comfortable learning web applications and proprietary software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Previous experience in a consumer apparel/home textiles company, e-commerce environment or other fast-paced, technology driven businesses a strong plus.
· Ability to work independently and autonomously.
· Good problem solving skills: acts decisively, promptly and confidently. Not afraid to contradict others and proactively offering solutions.
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Working knowledge of lean six sigma and process improvement methodologies.
