Technical Project Manager - Digital and Mobile Products

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for entrepreneurial, innovative individuals who thrive on solving tough problems in spoken language understanding. You will have a unique opportunity to impact the customer experience, implementation of cutting edge products, and underlying algorithms and models that will be used every day. The Senior Technical Project Manager role requires working with product management and user interface teams to understand how user experience translates into algorithms and modeling needs, and leading cross functional teams from design through delivery, and managing all related timelines. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control. Cross-team coordination and project management skills are essential.

In this role you will:
· Own and manage how customer needs translate into algorithm design and model development.
· Use your expertise in spoken language understanding technologies to drive improvements in accuracy and end-to-end voice experience quality.
· Drive deliverables such as automatic speech recognition (ASR) and natural language understanding (NLU) models and implementation of new algorithms into production systems.
· Data-driven analytics and ability to write your own tools as needed for driving future research directions.
· Drive consistent results and customer impact across the scientific teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Working knowledge of ASR or NLU technology
· Experience building processes, project management, and release schedules
· Product development experience (including Python, C++, Java, and Web Services)
· 7+ years of relevant work experience in internet-related program and/or technical product management in a software applications environment
· BS in computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MS or PhD in an area of spoken language understanding, preferably ASR or NLU.
· Experience in working in a product-focused R&D team with experience in driving innovation on algorithms or model development and deployment life cycle.
· Aptitude in professional software engineering practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization.
