Amazon Finance Business Services was created to support rapid growth across all business units. The goal of the team is to deliver a seamless procure-to-pay process that enables Amazon’s ongoing expansion within Europe. We are seeking an experienced candidate to identify, analyse, create, develop, and innovate solutions that lead to improvements in our European Finance Operations.

The team is embedded in the business, working closely with procurement teams, external customers, operations, and other functions within our multiple business units. This fast developing department now needs a Finance Manager - Finance Operations to become a major contributor to the fast paced world of Global Accounts Payable. The incumbent will lead, develop and motivate a small team based in Holborn and will partner closely with the business teams to develop and enhance a robust review and analysis capability. Ensuring Finance Business Services are led with highest levels of controllership, customer satisfaction and at the lowest cost to Amazon.

You will define and establish best practice and coordinate policies with the Fin Ops leadership team based out of worldwide Amazon locations.

This is an exciting role, at the heart of Amazon’s European finance group. It involves working with multiple business units, business partnering, building additional functionalities, streamlining processes and driving Self Service tools and adoption.

About the role

· You will be reporting on financial and business performance
· You will collaborate directly with offshore support teams and work on process improvements, acting as a liaison between Finance Operations and technical teams responsible for reporting automation and development activity
· You will lead and drive Senior Management meetings with Business Partners on key Finance Operations issues
· You will drive expansion of Self Service functionality and improvement in reporting capability including the analysis and testing of new reporting tools and new business launches

Other basic skills

· Understanding of financial principles in relation to aligning process improvements to clear tangible results
· Experienced at communicating complex analysis clearly and concisely
· Ability to dive deep into data and existing processes in order to identify issues or opportunities (process flowcharting, understand system implementation phases)
· A passion for metrics. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to get into the detail, while also seeing and understanding the bigger picture

Preferred skills

· Experience with Oracle Financials, SQL and Advanced Excel Skills advantageous
· Solid experience working as a strong (finance) business partner, demonstrated customer obsession and work ethic based on a real desire to exceed expectations
· Ability to get work done through others in an international, diverse and complex organisation
· Solid presentation skills and the ability to guide and influence senior leadership
