Senior Manager Demand Planning and Business Analytics

As the Sr Manager, Demand Planning and Business Analytics for Amazon you will be responsible for leading the UK volume forecasting and demand planning, defining the optimal resourcing solutions for all delivery nodes in the network. In addition to act as the point of contact with UK Transportation and Network Planning to ensure direct line of sight between the retail forecast and AMZL capacity provision as well as delivering a business analytics capability allowing AMZL UK to identify and delivery performance improvement.

The Sr Manager, Demand Planning and Business Analytics will lead a team of Business Analysts and Program / Project Managers who will both run day to day systems and processes as well as develop and implement a range of technology solutions to both improve performance and introduce system driven and scalable tools. They will lead demand forecasting and resource optimization for AMZL UK and work hand in hand with MOP, DSP, AmFlex, Transportation and Network Planning teams to produce an optimized labor plan across a rolling 90 day horizon. They will identify opportunities to introduce better, faster, more accurate and scalable solutions and processes and manage the full life cycle; from defining the business requirements, aligning with global product and tech teams for prioritization, testing deliverables are ready for UK AMZL implementation and execution. In addition this role will lead a Business Analytics team working with both program and operational teams alike to identify suitable metrics to measure performance, identify performance loss, root cause and fix.

Primary responsibilities include:
· Leadership of the AMZL UK demand planning and labor optimization processes and managing relationships with the global Amazon business as well as senior stakeholders in the UK business to ensure alignment with the strategy
· Provision of business analytic support to both program and operational teams in optimizing performance
· Acting as the single threaded owner for demand forecasting and planning working with UK Transportation, Network Planning, DSP and AmFlex teams
· Planning and managing resources to support running of day to day processes as well as the introduction of new systems.
· Identifying opportunities to improve systems and make more systemic and work with tech and operational stakeholders to make these a reality
· Setting the strategic roadmap for tools and products and defining how these align to the overall UK AMZL strategy


· Bachelor's degree, or equivalent
· Highly proficient in the use of Excel, SQL and other business analytical tools
· Ability to think and influence both quantitatively and qualitatively
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done
· Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment with competing priorities
· Demonstrated analytical skills; business trend analysis and forecasting
· Demonstrated ability to successfully influence multiple stakeholders and lead cross functional teams across geographies and business units
· Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving; thinks big, starts small, grows fast
· Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects /responsibilities
· A proven track record of setting and exceeding aggressive goals; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience, and judgment
· A high level of business acumen, including successful P&L management
· The ability to think strategically, anticipate future trends, develop product roadmaps, and deliver on those plans
· The ability to hire and retain top performers, and lead or direct cross-functional teams across multiple geographical locations


· MBA, MS or MA (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or Equivalent
· Project Management experience
· Prince2
