Manager, Technical Program Management - Networking, Dublin

The AWS Networking team develops, delivers, and operates the network platform for all of Amazon and our customers.

Are you ready to own the end-to-end planning and execution of the most important, cross functional, and impactful projects affecting the Amazon and AWS Networks? Well, you're in luck. We're looking for an experienced leader and people manager to oversee the delivery of our network scaling and growth programs, as well manage a team of senior technical program leaders responsible for critical projects and for the planning and execution mechanisms that ensure the AWS Networking organization is successful across the EU. This includes annual project and resource planning, execution roadmap development and tracking, hiring, team development and coaching, and overseeing our change control processes/mechanisms. The role requires a dynamic, large-scale and program management leader who can lead multiple initiatives across the globe. This leader is expected to significantly enhance the speed and quality of the Network’s evolution and development. Our leaders are deeply technical, understanding their environment to accurately represent issues and implement a strategy that continues to set new records for cycle time, quality and staff efficiency.

In this role you will be accountable for large scale delivery, affecting most aspects of the AWS network and the broad AWS product stack. This leader will drive the strategy to innovate and optimize our planning and execution efforts while instilling the highest level quality and lowest level of churn in our teams. This leader will be integral to the wider networking management senior leadership team, collaborating with our engineering and operations teams on new solutions and designs. They will own all aspects of people management within this team.

· Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or relevant degree/experience
· Minimum of 7 years experience in broad-scale program and project management
· Minimum of 7 years of people management (i.e. direct reports), including senior-level individual contributors
· Minimum of 3 years in a senior management/leadership role


· 10+ years in a technology role and 5+ years in a senior management/leadership role
· 7+ years managing people (i.e. direct reports)
· Past experience running large-scale onsite datacenter organizations with 50+ staff
· In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure
· Depth of experience creating and implementing high quality plans, that are able to effectively adapt to organizational changes
· Experience presenting strategic direction to company leadership
· Experience in agile management methodologies
· Experience with lean methodologies and Six-Sigma or similar qualification
