Systems Engineer
Amazon Corporate is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Network Systems Engineering team. We design automated solutions for Amazon’s global infrastructure, working with AWS and other Amazon-internal tool sets.

This is a technical leadership position. Technicians and engineers worldwide will look to you for mentorship, guidance and solutions to complex problems. You will be part of a strong team made up of systems and network engineers working in a massive, fast-paced, and distributed environment, spanning 100s of sites, multiple countries, and tens of thousands of customers. In this position you will lead projects that yield visible and measurable change in Amazon’s Corporate Infrastructure.


· Expertise with the Linux operating system and its operation in a large scale production environment
· Systems Engineering/Administration experience in a large, distributed environment focusing on automation
· Practical scripting experience with Python in systematically managing devices and systems via APIs
· Significant experience with common networking protocols and services including TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, TFTP, SNMP, and LDAP
· Working knowledge of network management, routing, and switching technologies including OSPF, BGP, Netflow, HSRP, IPv4, IPv6, NAT, VLAN/STP, TACACS, and LDAP
· Robust troubleshooting and analytical skills
· Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills for technical and business audiences
· Experience with system and application monitoring, software distribution, patching and maintenance.
· Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle


· A background in Information Security
· Experience with C, C++ and Java
· Experience using Amazon Web Services
· A bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
