Senior Systems Development Engineer
Amazon Corporate is looking for a Senior Systems Development Engineer to join our Network Systems Engineering team. We design and implement automated solutions for Amazon’s global network infrastructure, working with AWS and other Amazon-internal tool sets.

This is a technical leadership position. Technicians and engineers worldwide will look to you for mentorship, guidance and solutions to complex problems. You will be part of a strong team made up of systems and network engineers working in a massive, fast-paced, and distributed environment, spanning 100s of sites, multiple countries, and tens of thousands of customers. In this position you will lead projects that yield visible and measurable change in Amazon’s Corporate Infrastructure.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Expertise with the Linux operating system and its operation in a large scale production environment
· Substantial Systems Engineering experience in a large, distributed environment focusing on automation
· Extensive practical scripting experience in using shell, Perl or Python for systematically managing devices and systems via APIs
· Significant experience with common networking protocols and services including TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, TFTP, SNMP, and LDAP
· Working knowledge of network management, routing, and switching technologies including OSPF, BGP, Netflow, HSRP, IPv4, IPv6, NAT, VLAN/STP, TACACS, and LDAP
· Robust troubleshooting and analytical skills
· Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills for technical and business audiences
· Deep experience with system and application monitoring, software distribution, patching and maintenance.
· Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· A background in Information Security
· Experience with C, C++ and Java
· Experience using Amazon Web Services
· A bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
