About the Business Line Water
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an experienced and versatile waste water engineer with an interest in developing hydraulic modelling skills to join an established team in our Exeter office. To support our ongoing project commitments and team structure, AECOM are looking for a driven and ambitious applicant with at least two years experience in both engineering and hydraulic modelling aspects of sewerage projects. Similar experience gained in river engineering and modelling may also be considered.

You will be working on diverse range of sewerage related projects that deliver sustainable benefits to communities and the environment through a range of public and private sector clients.

As a leading supplier of waste water management services in the UK, you will integrate with a forward thinking and highly skilled individuals and have the responsibility of leading and shaping solutions for clients.

The role will require you to:

Perform a role bringing together hydraulic modelling (1D-2D) and engineering aspects of the project. You will have an understanding of engineering constraints and opportunities associated with modelling solutions to drainage problems to ensure model outputs are realistic;
Undertake technical work including:
Hydraulic modelling (including model build and verification;
Evaluation, feasibility, and outline design of solutions;
Quality assurance of technical work;
Drainage and civil engineering design;
Report writing
Assist with project management;
Take a proactive approach to managing client relationships, clarifying expectations, success criteria and outcome measures in order to meet their requirements and deliver successful projects;
Support wider business lines and develop and strengthen internal AECOM cross-sector relationships;
Assist with the strengthening and widening of our client base and the preparation of bids and proposals;


Minimum Requirements The role will require the candidate to possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills / knowledge of:
·A technical understanding of 1D and 2D modelling (using industry standard software particularly InfoWorks ICM);
·Technical understanding of GIS packages such as MapInfo and ArcGIS;
·Knowledge and understanding of hydraulic design;
·Experience in quality use of hydraulic models and recommending solutions for overcoming problems;
·Practical experience of developing solutions to sewerage related problems - identification, appraisal and design of options
·Commercial awareness and the ability to manage and deliver projects to time and budget;
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
·Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in civil engineering or environmental/earth sciences;
·Working towards achieving chartership with appropriate institution (i.e. ICE, CIWEM);
·A flexible and dynamic approach and mindset to respond to changing market requirements;
