Job Summary
Aecom is currently recruiting for a Geomatics Survey Coordinator to join our well established Topographical survey team; this role will be based in the S&C South Alliance Swindon office.

This is a full time permanent position offering a competitive salary and excellent employee benefits.

The candidate must possess a good general understanding of surveying theory, especially an appreciation of systematic errors and their effects, and be competent in the use of Total Stations, Levels & GNSS Receivers and the techniques of Control Surveying, Topographical Surveying & Construction Surveying.

As a Geomatics Survey Coordinator your daily responsibilities will include:

Allocating and managing the Survey resource in the office.
Work with other Aecom offices to correctly staff jobs accordingly.
Be a focal point in the office for all Survey/Geomatics tasks.
Undertake survey projects as a Lead Surveyor.
Responsible for the supervision of junior teams on larger projects.
Responsible for the production of digital survey data using existing software packages.
Undertaking survey calculations as they apply to survey work.
Providing leadership and mentoring other members of the team.
Apply your knowledge of modern survey instrumentation and data processing software to ensure that survey tasks are completed both onsite and in the office in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements
Significant experience in the rail industry.
Have experience of survey data processing.
Have a commitment to data quality.
Capable of leading all on-track survey tasks including the establishment of survey control, S&C, P’Way, profiling, gauging and OLE surveys.
Current PTS certificate is essential and you will ideally hold a COSS qualification.
Knowledge of possession planning and site safety.
Have an eye for detail and the ability to manage your time effectively.
Full UK Driving Licence.
You will be expected to travel throughout the UK and be prepared to work away from home including at weekends and on night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications
Be familiar with Trimble and Leica instruments and field coding systems.
Be proficient in the use of processing software packages: Trimble Business Center, LSS, STARNET, Leica Geo-Office, Microstation and Autocad.
Minimum of HND in surveying or Mapping science.
Membership of either RICS or ICES as a full member.
