We are looking for a Senior Manager, Program Management to lead our European Transportation Linehaul Procurement team. The position is located in our London headquarters. As an integral part of the UK Operations team, the Sr. Manager, Program Management will address opportunities that reduce transportation costs, improve performance, and increase customer demand. This involves building vendor relationships, identifying solutions in the marketplace and negotiating terms along with preparing the analysis summary of cost saving opportunities to determine the priority and feasibility of potential projects. The candidate will be able to design new transportation network delivery solutions, address transportation related web site functionality, and develop innovative projects that drive improvements in our transportation processes, to include design, measurement, & performance.

Responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to):
· Building a results-oriented top talent team
· Developing, managing, and growing our delivery labor pools
· Driving innovation in our approach to line haul procurement and execution
· Raising the contract quality and negotiation bar for our team
· Strategic planning and forecasting, appraise performance and problem resolution.
· Working with cross functional business owners to assess the labor and capacity needs
Responsibilities of your team will include (but are not limited to)
· Continuously transforming our mix of delivery providers in order to engineer a performance network with the highest quality, reliability, flexibility, and lowest cost
· Serving as the primary liaison for all external stakeholders for line haul delivery performance
· Managing multiple complex projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation
· Scoping out business and functional requirements for the Amazon tech teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools we use
· Working within various time constraints to meet critical business needs; while measuring and identifying activities performed
· Designing and implementing metrics reporting to drive performance improvement within our network
· Creating and implementing improvements to our transportation network that deliver flexible and efficient products for our customers
The ideal candidate has a background in logistics, business development and/or procurement within a cross-functional organization. The candidate is as comfortable working on high-level strategy and design, as they are rolling-up their sleeves and working on implementation. They have demonstrated the ability to build customized, innovative logistics solutions, drive process improvement, standardize procedures and negotiate effectively on behalf of our customers.

This job will require strong communication skills while having the ability to work independently in a high pressure, and often ambiguous, work environment.


· MBA or graduate degree + five (5) years of relevant experience or BA/BS in business, engineering, logistics or similar field AND 10 years’ relative experience
· Demonstrated negotiation skills and management of third-party vendors
· Experience with complex problem solving and analysis using statistical methods, financial modeling, and network optimization modeling
· Familiarity with the design and operation of complex operating processes


· Communication skills are clear, organized, concise with an ability to adapt to appropriate audience
· Independent & Entrepreneurial showing the ability to work with minimal direction
· Focused on delivering results for customers
· Proven project management ability that shows how to organize, find solutions and follow through to a successful conclusion
· Experience with worldwide small package industry; including knowledge of relevant carriers and high-volume small package operations
· Data retrieval/mining skills using Data Warehouse Systems
· Six Sigma or Statistics education or experience
· Experience using transportation network optimization, routing and sequencing tools, finding and synthesizing business insights through advanced excel modeling and SQL
