IS / IT Service Delivery Manager

The IS / IT Service Delivery Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Thales Alenia Space UK's business interests are properly served by an appropriate comprehensive and professional IS service. This involves understanding and bringing together business applications and infrastructure requirements with relevant Information Systems and Technology opportunities, managing and prioritising the business requirements against the available resources within Thales Service Division (DSV) within the context of the agreed support contract.

The role will be performed in the context of strong central Information Systems strategy and governance across the wider Thales Alenia Space Group and will manage appropriate compliance.

The Business IS / IT Manager will be responsible for local interpretation of these strategies, local project identification and then alignment of plans where appropriate across UK units to optimise costs and solutions.

Principal Relationships:
The IS / IT Service Delivery Manager will forge close internal realtionship with staff of all levels, including senior stakeholders. In doing so, the IS /IT Service Delivery Manager will identify and understand developing business requirements, explore and explain technology options through effective communication of ongoing service developments along with managing the overall delivery and downtime according to the needs of the business.
External relationships are wide ranging and include international IS / IT Colleagues within TAS & Thales companies; software and hardware suppliers; the GSA/MoD
Support staff and management from service outsource suppliers (currently Solvings).
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and direct the activities of the TAS UK IS Department
Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
Manage information technology and computer systems
Audit systems and assess their outcomes
Preserve assets, information security and control structures
Manage annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
Develop TAS UK IS strategy
Propose, implement and manage the strategic development of the Company's IT Systems in line with the needs of the business and the strategy of the group.
Travel is anticipated as part of this role, between the Harwell and Bristol offices (1 - 2 days per week) along with travel to within Europe to other Thales Alenia Space sites (1 - 3 days a month).
