Assistant Project Manager - WCC

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Urban Rail Signalling team, specifically working on World Class Capacity (WCC). The successful candidate will assist our established Project Managers in providing the overall change control, commercial awareness and stakeholder management of our client, London Underground.

The role of Assistant Project Manager (APM) is an excellent, development opportunity for an ambitious individual and is intrinsic to the successful delivery of the overall project.

This is a full time, permanent position based in London.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Enable project execution & planning of the 4LM programme
- Supporting the management of risk and opportunities
- Work closely with the PM to manage;
- subcontractors
- flow through of customer requirements
- supplier performance
- motivating the project team
- project stakeholders
- appropriate project governance
- Report to management on the progress and performance of the project

Skills & Attributes
- Experience of Project Management within Transportation or a transferable project environment
- Experience of client and stakeholder management at all levels
- A positive attitude combined with strong interpersonal and motivational skills
- A strong communicator
- Ability to embrace and encourage change
- Customer focused balanced with recognising the need for governance
- Ability to establish and meet deadlines
- Able to multi task and prioritise
- Strong planning and delivery skills
- Commercial/financial/business acumen
- Willingness to work in a collaborative environment
- Prince/APM qualified
- Engineering or Business Degree


- Knowledge of a range of transportation solutions (eg. Train control, communication and safety systems)
- Experience managing £1million+ projects
- Full project lifecycle management (from capture & qualification to winning strategies)
- Strategic approach to dealing with partners and clients
- Knowledge of commercial management, best practice supply chain
