AQUILA Air Traffic Management Services is a partnership between NATS, a leading UK air navigation services specialist, and Thales, a driving force in UK and global air traffic management. Together, we are deploying our expert knowledge to improve military air traffic management in the UK by the delivery of the MOD’s Marshall Programme. This is a transformational project that will ensure UK military air traffic is managed by a modern, cost-effective and world-class system.

Join AQUILA as a Ground Radio Technician, where you will be providing engineering support at RAF Northolt and other satellite locations. This will include maintenance of all Communication Systems, Radar Systems, NAV Aids and Monitoring equipment listed in the Contract Document.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure that personnel employed for provision of Services on site are fully qualified and experienced to the level required for the position and duties to be undertaken, providing the Aquila Service Delivery team with all relevant profiles and other information required.
Maintain clear and accurate legal records and competency ratings for all activities and incidents which affect the operation in accordance with the Aquila Management System and Helpdesk requirements
Ensure that all tools and equipment required for the maintenance task are requisitioned appropriately.
Ensure that all technical information required for maintenance tasks is in place and kept updated.
Unsure a thorough understanding of regulations within the Aquila ‘Ground Radio Maintenance Procedures’ and other regulatory standards applied by third parties for example the MAA or MOD.
Ensure compliance with Aquila and local site requirements for all H&S aspects
Manage and perform planned preventive maintenance activities on Air Traffic Management Temporary Technical Services, electronic equipment installed at the Service Delivery/Service Enabling Sites.
Manage and perform corrective maintenance activities on Air Traffic Management Temporary Technical Services and electronic equipment installed at the Service Delivery /Enabling Sites.
Undertake and successfully complete all training required to undertake a management role and complete preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Fully brief and supervise contractors ensuring their compliance with the Aquila Management System.
Conduct post incident procedures to aid the provision of Incident Reports in the event of a safety related incident.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Electronic engineering qualification to ONC/BTEC Level 3 or above.
Electronic engineering operations experience within Air Traffic Management environment.
Possess an in-depth current knowledge of, and experience with, computer based communications, radar, navaids, information systems, network management, display systems and other relevant Military Airfield systems and their associated control and monitoring facilities.
Adaptable, flexible and responsive to business needs at possible short notice and in alternative locations.
Must be able to prioritise under pressure, be technically competent to work on a wide range of equipment and have a logical approach to problem solving.
Full, valid, UK driving licence (Max 3 points).
