Job Summary AECOM currently has an opportunity for a Senior Highways Engineer to be based in our Belfast (Beechill House) office.

Our Strategic Highways Business in the Northern Ireland is undergoing an unprecedented period of growth which is underpinned by major highway project opportunities locally, nationally and internationally. We have the largest highways business in the UK which offers fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic, capable engineers to develop their careers working on projects in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Our project teams are currently delivering major highways and infrastructure projects for high profile clients and we are well placed to play a major role in delivering Highways England’s plan over the next 5 years. To help us to achieve our ambition we are now looking to grow this team with individuals who have a sound technical background and business development capabilities that share our enthusiasm and determination to support our expanding workload.

The role will suit a self-motivated individual who is aspiring to take a lead role in project delivery and manage dynamic teams delivering high quality projects. Some of the high profile projects that our team is currently delivering include:

•A6 Randalstown to Castledawson Dualling
•A6 Derry to Dungiven
•York Street Interchange

Job Responsibilities
•Preparation of designs and drawing in accordance with technical design standards;
•Development of designs in MX and/or Civils3D environment;
•Development of Surface Water Drainage Design in WinDes;
•Management of small and medium work packages and projects;
•Interface with the Client as necessary to deliver the work;

Minimum Requirements The successful candidate will be a Chartered Engineer with proven design and project management experience, delivering to quality, time and budget. They will preferably have experience of working collaboratively as part of a team developing a range of major highway projects for Highways England’s or other Highway Authority schemes.

The role will suit a self-motivated individual who is aspiring to take a lead role in project delivery and manage dynamic teams delivering high quality projects. Some of the high profile projects that our team is currently delivering include:

•A6 Derry to Dungiven

Along with the above we would like to hear from individuals with the following;

Significant experience in highway technical design on major projects.
Understanding of Health and Safety including CDM.
Experience in using MX Road and AutoCAD.

Preferred Qualifications
•BSc, BEng, MEng degree in Civil Engineering;
•Chartered Civil Engineer and member of a professional Institution.
