The Systems Integration Test and Support Organisation (SIT&S) are responsible for the Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) of a range SONAR products (used within the wider Combat System environment) and their subsequent Introduction Into Service.

We are a team of multi-disciplined engineers undertaking a variety of tasks, from Design proving, Integration and Test through to Harbour Acceptance and subsequent Sea Trials, to ensure the customer is satisfied before final delivery and signoff.

You will be a member of the in-house test team responsible for the conduct of a range of activities in the fields of Design Proving and Factory Acceptance. During these activities you will maintain a close working relationship with the Customer and End User communities, and may on occasion, be required to support activities at offsite locations (including target platforms).

Key Responsibilities
Form part of the in-house System Integration & Test Team working on SONAR Systems destined for delivery to Submarine, Surface Ship and Airborne platforms.
Be responsible for the production of all inboard system test documentation and conduct of associated test activities covering both the Hardware and Software entities within each System.
Collate and present the test evidence, captured during test activities, to enable design sell off and/or Customer Acceptance of the entities to be delivered.
As required, you will support platform Setting To Work (STW), Naval Weapons Harbour Trial (NWHT) & Sea Trials to ensure a smooth transition from in-house equipment delivery to Platform Trials.
Liaise and support the Systems, Software and Hardware teams in the conduct and resolution of investigations into outstanding issues prior to delivery.
Dependent on level of experience there may also be opportunities in the preparation and presentation of training material to the end user.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Understanding / knowledge of the IVVQ process
A logical, methodical and thorough manner, having an eye for detail and a wiliness to investigate and document findings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to team members, Design Authorities and varying levels of senior management.
Ability to work under pressure, either independently (where appropriate) or under supervision of the designated lead engineer.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for producing, modifying or reviewing technical documents, reports, plans and spread sheets.
Experience in the generation of test documentation (specifically writing specification and test reports)
Knowledge of electrical / electronic engineering and system engineering lifecycle
Technical Degree/HND or equivalent
