We are currently looking for a driven and confident Project Manager to successfully deliver a number of projects within our Maritime Mission Systems (MMS) business unit based in Cheadle. With a solutions orientated approach and solid skills in establishing and managing long term relationships with both internal and external customers, you will drive through change, mitigate risk, use commercial acumen to identify business opportunities, and ensure successful on time delivery. Although based in Cheadle you will need to travel to customer, supplier and other Thales sites therefore flexibility to travel is required but is only occasional.

Key duties include:
Deliver results and performance metrics the projects, including order intake, sales, gross margin and cash.
Create the Project Plan during the bid phase of the life-cycle
Ensure project governance over the bid and project delivery activities
Ensure business planning and reporting is published in accordance with Business directives
Work closely with other functions to drive quality, cost and delivery performance.
Manage project stakeholders ensuring strong communications are established and maintained.
Ensure the project team are actively managing risk and opportunities, and have a robust project management plan.
Ensure data integrity of all project information including financials and schedule.
Ensure “Lessons Learned Management” is applied to all projects.
Successfully lead a multifunctional project team.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:
A proven track record of delivering successful projects.
The ability to directly and successfully manage a project team.
Experience working within the defence industry.
Experience working in a complex, multidisciplinary, multi-site organisation.
Experience working across the full business life-cycle including capture, qualification, developing capture plans and winning strategies.
Extensive client and stakeholder management skills.
Degree or equivalent in a relative subject.
IPMA or APMA, APM accreditation or the desire to obtain this.
Driving licence is required due to the travel
