Software Engineer

This is a fast-paced and dynamic team where individual projects are short and varied - production systems are updated on a daily basis. The role includes responsibilities to carry out development, testing and delivery of all software relating to our transaction engines, reporting tools and internal support systems.
To comply with disciplined QA standards the role also includes responsibilities to produce and review technical documentation such as designs, test plans, and code review packs.

Role

• Develops, tests and delivers software in adherence with Mastercard standards, processes and best practices.
• Submits own work for and performs peer code review.
• Creates artifacts such as code review packs, releases and system documentation.
• Plays an active part in agile ceremonies such as daily scrum, backlog grooming, pointing poker, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.

All About You

Working knowledge of:
• Java, object orientation and JUnit testing
• RDBMS and SQL
• Linux OS (RHEL or Debian)
• HTML and web technologies
• Source control

Ideally some experience of the following:

• Java 8 / Spring / Mockito / Cucumber
• Perl
• Virtualisation / Puppet / Chef / Docker
• MySQL
• RESTful web services, JSON
• Git, GitLab / GitHub and a CI server (Jenkins)
