Senior Vendor Manager

DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Retail team is looking for an experienced Senior Vendor Manager (SVM) to join our Home Improvement Category. You will play a key role in helping us achieve our growth objectives by delivering a step change in performance, improving the customer offer, expanding product selection and deepening relationships with some of our largest suppliers in the UK. The SVM will manage manage commercial relationships with some of our largest partners in Europe. We expect the SVM to be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven ability to negotiate complex business terms, develop and manage relationships, drive results and demonstrate competency with business and financial analytics. The SVM must be an effective leader and communicator in working with some of Amazon’s most important partners and vendors, as well as with internal cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail and a high level of flexibility and commitment.

The successful Senior Vendor Manager must be able to:
· Manage relationships with some of our largest vendors including setting and driving strategic priorities, Pan EU vendor negotiations and optimising logistics set ups to deliver lower landed costs.

· Be responsible for the following areas of business management: in-stock management (in close relationship to the supply chain management team), strategic marketing, loyalty programs
· Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets
· Make decisions regarding adjustment and delivery of set category selection plans based on market segment dynamics.
Monitor and research industry and competitive trends to make the Amazon offering the best for the customer.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Professional experience, including commercial negotiations, ideally in an e-commerce, retail, key account management or consulting environment.
· Proven ability to influence others in a business setting.
· Strong communication skills and an assertive approach, whilst maintaining your ability to be vocally self-critical.
· Outstanding analytical skills and experience in planning and forecasting.
· Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas.
· Strong commercial acumen, A business focused way of thinking and a strong hands-on, results-driven mentality
· Excellent spoken and written English
· University degree required ideally in business management or in a technical or analytical discipline.
· Excellent marketing skills, a feel for customer needs, as well as a high degree of innovative prowess
· Excellent knowledge of Excel and database work, with experience in SQL as a plus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MBA from a top global business school
· Relevant commercial category experience a plus
· Advanced Excel skills is a plus, SQL even better
