approaches? Do you want to be part of the UK business development team helping to establish Amazon Web Services as the leading cloud computing platform in the Public Sector ?
As an AWS Partner Solutions Architect you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS and Amazon CloudFront) across the partner community. Your broad responsibilities will include: owning and developing the technical engagement with strategic partners across the UK.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical skill in software architecture and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills at all levels of a partner organization. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities:
As a strategic member of the Public Sector Partner Development team, you will act as a trusted advisor to our consulting partners. This includes:
· Provide the architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote successful partner engagements.
· Assist solution providers with the definition of technical strategies that will enable them to sell more of their offering on the AWS platform.
· Capture and share best-practice knowledge with our broader Solution Architect community
· Share customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS
· Own Partner Technical engagement plans
· Serve as a key technical member of the Partner team in helping to ensure partner success in building applications and services on the AWS platform.
· Scope each partner engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
· Own each technical engagement, and help ensure a timely and successful delivery of value. (Delivery of actual solutions to be done by AWS partners)
· Understand the AWS Public Sector market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.
· Understand and exploit the use of and other internal Amazon systems.


The candidate will possess both technical and customer-facing skills that will allow them to be the technical “face” of Amazon when working alongside Partners. He or she will be able to drive discussions with senior personnel within an agency, as well as the technical background that enables him or her to easily interact and give guidance to software developers, IT pros, and system architects in public sector markets. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
• The right person will be highly technical and analytical, possess significant experience of software development and/or IT and networking implementation as well security and compliance
• Advisory/consulting experience, including some experience with government and/or education customers.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams.
• Experience working within the software development or Internet industries is highly desired.
• Experience working with Partners is highly desired.
• Understanding of application, server, and network security and government certifications is highly desired.
• Business fluent English language skills.
Technical – Web services development/deployment experience, IT systems and network engineering experience, security and compliance experience, etc


• Technical degrees in computer science, software engineering, or math highly desired
Working knowledge of modern software development practices and technologies such as agile methodologies and DevOps is highly desired
