Marketing/Data Analyst - FTC

This position is based on an 11 month contract

Job Overview:

This position offers the right candidate the opportunity to make a big impact on the success of the business overall. The position of Business Analyst needs an independent, analytical self-starter to take a leading role in supporting key decision making with metrics reporting, and customer behavior analysis to provide insight in a rapidly growing business. Sharp problem solving skills, experience with advanced SQL, manipulation of data and applying these to business issues, are the keys to success for this position. The position reports in to Senior Manager, Product Marketing with support and leadership from our international business analyst and data science teams.

Key Accountabilities:
· Conduct ad-hoc analysis of business issues through SQL database querying to capture data, followed by relevant excel analysis and interpretation of results.
· Create new business reports and dashboards to generate insights and inform business decisions.
· Support marketing campaign targeting and performance measurement.
· Partner with the business owners in creating business models that support major investments, partnerships, initiatives and projects.
· Maintain a deep understanding of business drivers and an innate grasp of business metric definitions.
· Leverage reporting knowledge to extract targeted datasets from the database, distill insights into the business, and communicate them clearly to management.


· Bachelors Degree in MIS, maths, statistics, hard science, finance, business or similar
· Passion for analysis and customer insight
· Extensive Knowledge of database software, Excel, and demonstrated advanced knowledge of SQL.
· Experience with business intelligence tools and statistical analysis
· Experienced at analytical data manipulation on large databases
· Strong research, analytical/decision making and problem solving skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and ideas in a non-technical, simple manner across all levels of the organization
· Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude, focus on excellence, and attention to detail
· Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment
· Solid organizational and project management skills are also required along with the ability to work with cross functional teams under tight deadlines


· Advanced degree in MIS, maths, statistics, hard science, finance, economics, or related discipline
· Experience in eCommerce, software development, subscription businesses or online media a plus
· Experience with primary research methods including surveys and qualitative studies
