About the Business Line Water
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

AECOM has an immediate requirement for a Chartered Engineer to join our existing team in Edinburgh.

Daily responsibilities:
You'll take responsibility for communicating with clients and work with other senior team members to build the company profile.
Responsibilities will include project management duties - financial management, technical management of designs and undertaking Client facing duties. The role will also involve project coordination with various disciplines such as civil, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and process, including contribution to activities such as HAZOP and DSEAR.
Experience of managing multiple complex projects and leading a multi-disciplinary water engineering team, including MEICA, process and civil and structural engineers.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role you must be a Chartered Civil Engineer with experience in the full cycle of waste water / clean water projects such as asset planning, master planning water treatment, sewage treatment, pumping stations and clean and waste water network resilience and maintenance. In addition to suitable project and sector experience, candidates should also be able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills, the ability to interface effectively with external stakeholders and a focus on delivering best value for AECOM’s Clients.

Essential Skills
You must also be able to demonstrate:
Experience with leading a multi-disciplinary team / small projects in waste water or water treatment;
Leadership and people management skills, able to influence, motivate and delegate effectively;
Well-developed commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of the industry;
Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally;
Ability to manage budgets, plan resources and meet project time lines effectively

Project Management of Water Industry Schemes incl. financial, contractual, and Client Management);
Management of a small team of engineers in the above work;
Development of new graduates;
Support the development of the team in terms of team meetings, marketing, and business development;
Commitment to continued professional development;

Preferred Qualifications
Successful candidates must have a civils background and hold Chartered Engineer status (CIWEM or ICE). Project Management qualifications and experience are preferred, as is experience working with statutory environmental bodies such as the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and Scottish Waterways Trust.
