About the Business Line Energy
We address the complete spectrum of energy challenges, including clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon management, hydropower and dams, thermal, geothermal and wind power generation, and transmission and distribution.

Job Summary
The Architecture Practice is a key, lead design function within Industry with growing teams to support its workload. As a practice, work lies with other AECOM businesses; designing offices, local authority projects, schools, emergency services buildings, airport facilities, prisons, railway stations and depots.

The Practice is proud of its high quality work, is fully BIM enabled and produces high quality 4D visualizations. Forward workload is very buoyant and growing with several large frameworks and projects recently won and we are therefore recruiting exceptional and ambitious Architectural Technologists/Technicians to join its busy design studios in Manchester, Teesside and Edinburgh.

Job Responsibilities

As an Architectural Technologist/Technician, you will work with senior members of our teams on a range of projects at all stages of the design and construction process. From day one, you will be involved in some important and challenging projects.

Every day will be different, and you will be required to use your skills and knowledge to help solve problems and provide input into our projects. You will work in a team to provide technical solutions, and your day could involve anything from helping to produce designs, specifications and calculations, to assisting in technical reports, travelling to construction sites or attending client meetings.

Core responsibilities:
Assisting in the preparation of conceptual design work and the presentation of projects.
Supporting the design development of project proposals and feasibility studies.
Supporting the technical delivery and implementation of projects including preparing working drawings, specifications and contract documentation.

As part of AECOM’s Resources and Industry business, the Industry division is a multi-disciplinary consultancy focusing on the design of innovative industrial projects worldwide, which incorporate processes at the cutting edge of emergent technology. It operates primarily in the power generation, energy efficiency, automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical, data processing, manufacturing, distribution and warehousing sectors. Clients include Amazon, BMW, DHL, GE, Jaguar Land Rover, Manchester Airport Group, Rolls Royce, Shell and UPS.

Minimum Requirements
HNC, BA, BSc or equivalent architectural technology qualification.
Good spatial and technical ability with good analytical and organizational skills.
Good hand drawing and computer graphic skills.
Knowledge of AutoCAD 2016 and previous versions Revit, Adobe and the MS suite of programmes.
Ambitious, energetic and hard-working. Highly motivated with good communication skills.
Previous experience in an architect’s office or in an architectural technology practice.

Preferred Qualifications
3D computer and / or CGI visualization skills will be an advantage.
Interest in all aspects of architecture and construction technology from concept to detail design.
