Job Summary
We are currently recruiting for an Associate Director - Bridge Engineering to join our centrally located Cardiff office, which has an established track record of successfully delivering major transport schemes.

Our modern office in the heart of Cardiff City Centre has good transport links and accommodates a multi-disciplinary transportation design centre. The team provides include feasibility studies, scheme designs, detailed designs, assessments, inspections, construction support and management services on a wide range of bridges and transport projects including highway and railway schemes. The team is involved in local, national and international work with a variety of clients both from the public and private sector including design & build partnerships with contractors.

Some of the projects our Cardiff office is currently working on includes:
•Severn Bridge.
•Network Rail bridge maintenance inspections and assessments.
•Northern Hub & Electrification.
•South Gloucestershire Structures Framework.
•Inspection, testing, feasibility and design schemes of railway & highway footbridges.
•The independent design checking of major steel-concrete composite highway bridges.

As an Associate Director – Bridge Engineering, you will have the following daily responsibilities:
•Undertake and project-manage bridge engineering schemes from feasibility through to detailed design.
•Responsible for production through to client sign off of Technical Approval documentation.
•Analysis and detailed design of road/rail bridges and other structures.
•Inspection, assessment and strengthening of road/rail bridges and other structures.
•Client liaison and the production of tenders, including quality documentation and costings.
•Project Management including program and resource monitoring, quality control, technical management and delivery.
•Mentoring graduate engineers in their progress to Chartership.

Minimum Requirements
•Proven design and project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.
•The role will suit a self-motivated individual looking to lead teams and to advance their career both technically and in project management in a dynamic structures team.
• Experience with bridge and related structural inspection assessment and design schemes.
•Proven design and project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.
•Significant experience in road and rail bridge projects.
•High level technical skills in current inspection, assessment and design.
•Previous exposure with clients of both national and local authorities, together with major contractors.
•Ability to manage staff and project Health and Safety responsibilities including compliance with CDM legislation.

Preferred Qualifications
• Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• MSc level or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer with ICE and IstructE.
