Senior Business Development Manager

Job Description:
Would you like to develop and implement strategies with online and offline partners to drive ongoing growth of our customer base and deepen our relationships with them? Would you like to work closely across internal teams to drive large scale partnership opportunities for Amazon’s products, especially when we are launching new services in new territories? Do you want to work across the EU to develop senior level contacts at partners to show how Amazon can provide them end-to-end solutions to help them grow their business, innovate and adapt to the digital environment?

Amazon’s Strategic Business Development unit is looking for a senior, experienced, driven and entrepreneurial Senior Business Development Manager to take a critical role in further growing our business. We work with existing online and offline partners across the EU to drive a) subscriptions to Prime, Prime Video, and Music Unlimited and Audible to name just a few, and b) other strategic initiatives that deepen our relationship with our customers, for example, driving Amazon device sales. We work continually with most departments across Amazon – from the Prime, Incentives, Devices, Amazon Media Group, Amazon Web Services teams– to develop new and entrepreneurial initiatives with partners. We are continually innovating, testing and learning, and have aggressive growth targets to hit.

Core Responsibilities:
Our environment is very fast-paced, and requires someone who is highly enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, flexible, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with multiple teams across multiple locales. He or she must be able to effectively engage across internal teams to drive our strategic growth programs, as well as with with C-level executive management of top EU companies to develop partnership strategies and business growth programs. Core responsibilities include:
· Working with existing teams to drive the various Amazon subscription programs’ growth across the EU, and monitor, manage and report on progress in this area.
· Identify, develop and nurture relationships, and close deals, with large scale external partners at senior levels that provide solutions to their problems and bind them to working with Amazon as broadly as possible.
· Identify partnership roadblocks and partner with product and program management teams across Amazon to develop solutions to address them.
· Prepare and give business reviews to senior management regarding progress and roadblocks.


· Bachelor’s degree required
· 10+ years in business development, strategy consulting, sales, account management
· Demonstrated experience of engaging, influencing and closing deals at CEO / senior director level
· Demonstrated experience in developing new ideas and approaches to drive new value to customers and for partners
· Ability to think strategically and creatively using sound business judgment
· A proven track record of leading and driving multiple complex programs to meet business objectives and a demonstrated ability to translate strategic initiatives into detailed operation plans
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
· Highly motivated and effective across geographically distributed teams
· An entrepreneurial mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently, ability to multitask and thrive in fast-paced environment is crucial
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
· German and English speaker
· Location: Berlin, Munich or London


· MBA or an advanced degree
· Italian or Spanish language skills.
· Experience driving results with international partners
· Strong negotiation skills
