About the Business Line Environment
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
Our Landscape Architecture team in Manchester is currently looking for a Principal Landscape Architect with extensive experience in public realm design to lead and deliver high quality design projects across the country. The candidate will also be required to develop the client base and expand the opportunities across a variety of market sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the Job / Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:
Prepare concept designs in collaboration with other specialist disciplines
Undertake presentations to stakeholder groups, lead on design charrettes and workshops
Produce drawings using the Autodesk Suite of software, with the necessary level of detail as required for public realm projects at various stages of development: studies, conceptual design, detailed design and construction. Knowledge of the use of BIM will be beneficial.
Producing technical reports such as public realm strategies and feasibility studies.
Reporting to the landscape design team leader you will also interface directly with other team members, from graduate to Directors and with other internal design teams
You will have strong development skills and have the ability to develop and manage the work of others.
Have the technical ability, knowledge and competence to provide guidance to develop and mentor junior staff.
Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team.
Establishing strong working relationships with other internal teams
Develop external clients
Undertake bidding and preparation of tender submissions
Undertake project management using AECOM’s internal PM software.
Be aware of and understand the AECOM IMS procedures, their importance and their application to projects.

Minimum Requirements
You will have experience in working for local authority and private sector clients in design and delivery of high quality public realm projects
You will be proficient and experienced user of AutoCAD and the Adobe suite of products to produce high quality technical drawings and details within a live project environment.
Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders using a variety of media, including workshops and design charrettes to convey your designs
Ability to convey ideas and responses to client briefs with written and illustrated technical reports
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience of some or all of the following software is also highly desirable: Revit or Bentley.
Full drivers licence

Preferred Qualifications
You will have a degree in Landscape Architecture and be a chartered member of the Landscape Institute
