Primary Purpose of the Role:
The principle purpose of the role is to lead the Project Planning and Controls team to support the successful delivery of the OME (Glasgow) Project Portfolio within scope, budget, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
The Project Planning and Controls Manager is responsible for leading the Project Planning and Controls team to support the successful delivery of the OME (Glasgow) Project Portfolio within scope, budget, and schedule. In this role, the Project Planning and Controls Manager will work closely with the LAS UK BPM Function as well as foster relationships with stakeholders within key business units, champion the strategy and vision of the BPMO, manage a team of Planners and PMO Specialists and support a portfolio of Bids and Projects requiring PMO engagement.

Main responsibilities include: -

• Project Planning and Controls Lead
Monitoring and controlling Project performance (e.g. Project Dashboards);
Providing BPM functional leadership for Tools and Process and Standards;
Responsible for providing a common set of Project Management toolsets;
Specialist in Project Planning toolsets (Primavera P6, MS Project, PRA / Pertmaster);
Lead on the production of the BPMO monthly reports;
Responsible for coaching and training staff (experienced professionals, graduates, apprentices);
Integrated Business Planning (IBP) reporting lead for JF03 OME Glasgow (e.g. Site Supply Review, LAS Review, reporting, managing supply/demand, Champion IBP improvements etc.); and
Development and sharing of ‘best practices’.
• Risk & Opportunity Management Lead;
SME / Point of contact for Risk Management across the OME (Glasgow) Project Portfolio; and
Support Bids/Projects with development of Risk & Opportunity Management Plans (ROMPs).
Development and sharing of ‘best practices’.
• Project Governance and Assurance Lead
Governance and assurance lead for the OME (Glasgow) Project Portfolio;
Coordinate Project Reviews for the OME (Glasgow) Project Portfolio (invites, attendees, review calendar, actions etc.);
Contribute at Project reviews; and
OME Portfolio Performance Dashboard Lead.
• Primavera P6 Lead for the OME (Glasgow) Project Portfolio;
Champion deployment and use of Primavera;
Point of contact for any Primavera issues, and responsible for managing to successful closure;
Responsible for management of Primavera Back Office to ensure monthly actuals are injected on time and accurately to support timely CSR reporting;
Responsible for championing process improvements to the Primavera Back Office processes;
Responsible for managing Primavera Rate Decks with Finance; and
Primavera Super User in Glasgow.
• Team Management
Responsible for managing a team of 10 Project Planners / Controllers and PMO Professionals;
Responsible for coaching and training staff (experienced professionals, graduates, apprentices) and managing individual career development;
Responsible for AADs and PDDs; and
Responsible for processing Workday actions in timely manner (i.e. annual leave requests; approvals; change of details; (e.g. Cost Centre, JF); sickness; and work patterns.

• Extensive experience in a senior Project Controls role

• Proven Leader within a matrix style organisation;
• Specialist in Project Planning toolsets (Primavera P6, MS Project, Fuse, PRA / Pertmaster);
• Customer-focused balanced with recognising the need for governance;
• Risk & Opportunity Management expert (methods, techniques, processes, application, tools etc.);
• Project Planning and Controls expert (methods, techniques, processes, application, tools etc.);
• ‘Hands-on’ Primavera expert;
• Ability to establish and meet deadlines, multi-task and prioritise;
• Adept at leading and motivating teams, able to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal;
• Extensive stakeholder management experience;
• Excellent communicator (written and verbal);
• Excellent analytical skills;
• Strong planning and delivery orientation;
