Design Project Manager - Water

About the Business Line Water
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
AECOM is looking to employ a Project Manager to work within our growing Water consulting team in Exeter. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in project managing feasibility, outline and detailed design for water and wastewater utility projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join a multi-disciplinary engineering design team delivering the design of upgrades to networks and treatment works.

You will be responsible for the management of projects from feasibility to detailed design including programme, financial, commercial and quality management. Candidates should have demonstrable experience with NEC PSC contracts, programming, resource management, and delivering against a defined scope.

Minimum Requirements
You will hold a BSc or BEng in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Project Management
You will understand the importance of Health and Safety in design and contribute to our positive health and safety culture
You will have experience working under a NEC PSC contract, including developing proposals
You will enjoy working in collaborative delivery environments together with client and contractors, and be able to confidently lead client and team meetings
You will play a key role in developing the project budget and schedule, and ensure this is delivered during the project, with any risk or changes proactively managed.
As part of a leading engineering firm, it is essential that you have excellent interpersonal skills, using these to develop and maintain a good working relationship with both internal and external customers.
You will have demonstrated an ability to run projects, administer contracts and control budgets.
Demonstrate sound problem solving skills, accountability for assigned work, and solid written and communication skills.
You will be confident acting as a mentor to developing engineers, promoting their technical and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications
Engaged within your industry, holding an accredited Project Management qualification.
Whilst predominantly a PM role, the individual will benefit from a technical background in water and wastewater projects.
Well networked individual, having previous experience of water and waste water projects within other regions.
Experienced within the Water / Waste Water industry.
Understanding of behavioural safety within a Mechanical, Electrical and/or Civil engineering environment.
Experience of asset management projects would be beneficial, in addition to project management of feasibility, outline and detailed design projects
