Transportation Optimization Manager

The Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES) Team within Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) EU is responsible for driving step-change improvements in the performance of Amazon’s European transportation operations . We work backwards from the customer and define new innovative solutions that raise the bar on customer experience and speed whilst constantly lower our cost of transportation and supporting our continued high growth.

We are looking for an exceptionally talented Project Manager to be part of the core team within ATS ACES. The role will report into the manager of ATS ACES EU. They will independently define, own and drive cross-functional and cross-EU projects from concept through to full implementation. The range of projects will be broad and wide ranging covering improving transportation operations processes and productivity, improving customer delivery quality and speed, developing new solutions for collaborating with vendors and fulfillment operations, introducing new technologies and automation, and integrating new operating models and customer propositions.
The Project Manager is expected to work as a generalist across the operations but can also develop expertise and specialize depending on his/her passions and career goals.

Role: Individual Contributor

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
· Identifying and prioritizing a portfolio of projects to drive operational improvement and change
· Work closely with Transportation stakeholders in Europe as well as Operations, Safety, Supply Chain and Vendors to identify big opportunities for change
· Assess the scope and feasibility and build business cases for change

· Work closely with our worldwide operations teams to manage large change projects from concept through to pilot and full implementation
· Structure approaches to solving complex operational problems and develop key hypotheses
· Drive and manage detailed data analysis to shape and scope solutions
· Partner with key stakeholders in Operations, Engineering, Safety, Technology, and Supply Chain to design detailed operational solutions
· Structure and develop implementation plans and work with Operational Leaders to pilot and test new solutions and then roll-out across the broader organisation

Location: Candidates should be willing to relocate to the United Kingdom and be based out of Amazon's London office. Candidates should also be willing to travel up to 25% of the time to support Pan-EU Operations.

· Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in a Science-based subject (or higher e.g. MBA)
· 5-8 years + relevant management experience in either Business Consulting, Manufacturing, Production, or Supply Chain
· Experience of operational, process, and performance improvement projects (lean or six sigma experience also valued) including process mapping and re-design with a heavy emphasis on change management
· Experience across the full project lifecycle – analysis and design as well as implementation
· Recognised as a top performer versus peers in his/her career to date
· Passion for Amazon’s business and motivation to progress and build a career with Amazon
