Technical Account Manager Digital Music operations

Passionate about music and operations? Amazon Digital Music team is looking for a rare talent, a superior strategic thinker who is passionate about Music who, thinks/acts globally, has analytical and technical skills, to join our team as Technical Account Manager.

In this high impact position you will be part of the operations team and interact with business, finance and technical teams to facilitate data driven decisions about our catalog operations and our business. You will also work with external partner's and amazon's technical teams to drive automation and build intelligent solutions, reporting and data systems that will assist in managing our catalog operations.

This role will tackle a wide-range of compelling operational challenges within Amazon’s Digital Music business with Key Responsibilities such as:

· Providing ongoing technical support for vendors on issues such as data transmission, FTP, images, metadata, digital file formats, and content ingestion portals specific to Amazon
· Interacting with digital content teams and vendors to stay on top of new content deliveries, changes in specs, resolution of problems including issues related to ingestion, clearing and reporting
·Improve content provider and customer experience by delivering superior customer support, and by relentlessly advocating for content providers throughout the enterprise
· Monitoring existing metrics and supporting cross-functional teams in different countries on day-to-day operational processes and execution of projects, collaborating to identify process and system improvement opportunities
· Retrieving and analyzing massive data sets to answer key operational questions using SQL, Excel, Access and other data management systems.
Designing and implementing reporting solutions (weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting) to help better manage the operations and make effective decisions (actual business and operational metrics and forecasts); building scalable database solutions when required
·Driving small to medium operational improvement projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights, feedback and recommendations across the Digital Music organization


· BA/BS degree in a technical, business, or analytical field (mathematics, CS, engineering, statistics, economics or related field)
· 2-4+ years’ relevant experience in and operations or production environment with proven success in achieving efficiency and throughput goals.
· Familiarity with common digital formats and digital transmission methods such as FTP and SFTP. · Strong technical aptitude and expertise with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby or similar, are a plus
· Familiarity with managing product flow in a manufacturing operation (maximizing efficiency, reducing cycle time, maintaining quality, etc.)
· Advanced knowledge and experience using SQL, ETL and databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex data sets (Oracle SQL preferred)
· Proven analytical and quantitative skills (includes fluency in standard software advanced Excel and Access) and an ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses
· Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to listen and communicate effectively across multiple groups (technical and business); proven ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment and experience working in cross-functional teams
· Proven ability to multi-task, manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, prioritize workload and drive projects to completion meeting tight deadlines

· High attention to details and proactive self-starter with demonstrated ability to research independently and take initiative to learn new skills, develop new ideas and creative solutions
· Experience with technology businesses like ours, solving complex business challenges; experience in the development of pricing analysis is a strong plus
· Experience executing on basic database engineering (e.g., building tables, ETL tasks)
· Professional experience with statistical analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, time series analysis, data mining, financial analysis, dynamic pricing, demand modeling, game theory and customer/product segmentation
· Comfortable, even very happy, spending hours at a time pouring over spreadsheets
· Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Knowledge of scripting for automation
· Experience driving small to medium sized projects
