Senior Design Manager

Amazon Prime Video is changing the way people watch movies and TV shows. Prime Video is the first streaming service in the world to win a best TV series Golden Globe (we’ve won two) as well an Oscar (we’ve won three). Let’s not forget about that BAFTA. We’re not taking our foot off the gas in 2017 - we’re now available in 242 countries and territories and we’re dramatically increasing the selection of our original TV series and films with collaborators such as Ridley Scott, Matthew Weiner, and David O. Russell.

We’re seeking a design leader who can leverage their expertise in delivering innovative advertising experiences that support the Prime Video benefit across a wide range of platforms including game consoles, connected TVs, mobiles devices and the web. The role will report into the Head of EU Design, and will be responsible for leading a team of visual designers across the EU.

We are looking for a design manager with a proven record of analytical rigor, creative problem solving and flawless execution. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of leading large-scale strategic creative efforts, while also staying connected to the details and being able to deliver results on a day-to-day basis.

The role requires someone who can recommend well-informed, data led decisions that positively impact the customer experience and the overall design language of Amazon Video worldwide.


· Lead a team of 4 designers responsible for the end to end visual design process from ideation and development to results tracking
· Understand and respond to marketing campaign performance data (metric tests, usability studies), and steer the direction of future creative based on these learnings
· Mentor and inspire designers around the world, and attract/retain the best performers
· Manage time effectively, meet deadlines and communicate needs and trade-offs if you, or your teams’ schedule is in jeopardy
· Regularly look outward to identify opportunities for improvement and to incorporate advancements in Prime Video’s visual language
· Programmatically seek inspiration outside of the business, harvesting emerging and innovative practices and rapidly testing their impact
· Develop and consciously evolve templates that allow Prime Video to standardize and scale repeated processes and re-deploy time saved towards bold & innovative activity
· Manage projects with both internal partners and external agencies ensuring work is delivered on budget, on time, and meets the bar


· Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent professional experience required
· Multiple years of professional experience working as a visual designer with management experience essential
· Strong understanding of commercial creativity, brand development, the digital landscape and multichannel marketing concepts
· Knowledge of marketing fundamentals and ability to implement them to create dial moving creative experiences
· Ability to work with highly technical teams and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite with a proven design ability, typographic skills, acute attention to detail, strong organisational skills
· Self-starter who is a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player
· An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating strong visual design skills and advertising experience across a range of media including online, mobile and print is a requirement for application
