Primary Purpose of Role
The Mechanical and Thermal Architect is in charge to design a satellite architecture coherent of the mechanical and thermal environments met on-ground and in-flight, and satisfying all the system requirements. The role will ensure all or part of the specification, the design, the justification and the tests of the satellite on the mechanical and thermal aspects, from the BID phase until the final delivery

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Phase of engineering of the mission and of customization of the satellite
• Management and technical coordination of the Plateau in the beginning of program
o Regular analysis of the dates of outputs and update with the support of schedule people
o Coordination of the various fields of activity of mechanical, thermal and propulsion engineering : propose the solutions allowing to satisfy customer needs while respecting the products policy, the standardization, the re-use
• Management of the work packages relating to Mechanical and Thermal activity
• Analysis of customer exhibits and launcher manuals, and implementation of the activities to define the satellite requirements
• Specification of products structure, thermal, propulsion, antennas and mechanisms
• Participation in the elaboration of the specifications of the other products and equipment’s of the satellite for mechanical and thermal aspects
• Negotiation and management of the mechanical and thermal definition and interfaces of the satellite
• Validation of the satellite interface
• Establishment of the preliminary satellite MCI budget allowing to direct the choices of accommodation, to verify the compatibility with the generic AOCS settings and the mechanical compatibility
• On PDA request, participation in the preparation (data package review) and in the reviews EQSR and PDR of jobs, products and/or equipment’s
• Contribution to the establishment of the preliminary launchers interfaces (MCI, venting, analyze of fairing clearances, mechanical and thermal compatibility) and participation in reviews on request
• Contribution to defining how the customer requirements will be verified by defining the method (Test, Analysis, Design, Inspection) and the level where the verification will be made (system, products, equipment’s)
• Preparation of the satellite design reviews and data packages. Participation in the review and answer to any RIDs
Activities in the project team
• The role manages the team on the development or the implementation of the mechanical and thermal architecture of the satellite
• You will support the PDA in the evaluation of the impacts of the technical choices
• Write the reporting of activities and spending towards the PDA
• Contribute to the consolidation of the Risks and Opportunities
• Attend daily meetings during satellite AIT phase
• Participate in the activity of the project group : project meetings, progress reports and customer reviews
