Service Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Technician.
You should have the drive to meet targets, quality and productivity expectations in line with company goals. Highlight and rectify issues as they arise, this is an hourly paid Tier 3 position.

Key Purpose

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
· To provide a reactive and pro-active maintenance service to all operational equipment
· Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service, which covers both electrical and mechanical disciplines
· Carryout modifications and installations when required
· Liaise with contractors or external suppliers and clearly communicate technical issues
· Ensure that work is carried out to a high standard and complies to Amazon’s Health & Safety policies/guidelines

Key Tasks / Duties

· Provide a service that ensures all mechanical and electrical equipment is running to it’s optimum performance
· Provide a service that ensures all departmental KPI’s & SLA’s are met
· Maximise availability of all mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement
· Carryout Planned Preventative Maintenance
· Provide technical support/input to projects and initiatives
· Continuously look to improve equipment efficiencies and cost reductions
· Flexibility in working hours and shift patterns to provide cover for operational and PPM requirements.
· Self motivated and customer centric.
· Ad-Hoc requests as and when required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications will include all of the Service Technican qualifications :
· A completed Bachelor’s, High school diploma, Technician, Master or equivalent degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Automation) or a highly qualified "formacion profesional" Technician.
· PLC programs, ability to troubleshoot ladder logic (read use for troubleshooting), components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet)
· Mentor technicians and Apprentices by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals.
· Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organization
· Ability to provide enriched feedback to enhance individual performance
· Ability to work all days and shifts in a 24/7 environment
· Proven Language skills in English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience and proficiency in the following areas:
o Automated conveyors systems and controls
o Electrical and electronic principles
o Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
o Knowledge of CMMS(computerized maintenance management system) programs and implementation
o Preventative maintenance procedures
o Industrial electrical, controls, electronics
o PLC programs - Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley
o Industrial PC literacy
· Knowledge of N.E.C.
· Understanding of OEE and equipment performance metrics
· Knowledge of Statutory Compliance requirements
· Proven Leadership experience/aptitude,
· Proven ability to mentor and develop training plans for other service technicians
· Ability to deal with ambiguity
· Proven Experience of contractor management
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload
· Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations
· Demonstrate Core Leadership Principles
· Siemens PLC’s step 5 & 7
· Dematic / Van Der Lande /TGW conveyor systems
· Weber / Zebra Thermal Print Engines
· Experience of sortation machines
· Experience of maintaining/configuring bar code scanners
· Experience of print and apply machines
