About the Business Line Environment
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

AECOM’s heritage team is a Registered Organisation with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.

Job Responsibilities:

The posts will entail:
Working as part of the heritage team on multi-disciplinary projects;
Independent archival research;
Organising and undertaking unaccompanied site visits;
Preparation of assessment and other technical reports such as desk-based assessments, environmental statements, written schemes of investigation;
Analysing and assessing the contribution that setting makes to the significance of a heritage asset and how setting may be impacted;
Costings and budget management;
Maintaining professionalism and excellence through strong writing skills and behaviours;
Effective and engaging consultation with statutory and non-statutory consultees;
Working with engineers and designers to inform mitigation strategies;
Working independently and taking responsibility for programmes of work, conducted safely, and producing high quality reports;
Liaising effectively with managers, consultants from other disciplines and other stakeholders as required.

Minimum Requirements
•Client focused team player with a positive attitude;
•Professional, organised and thorough approach to work which demonstrates an attention to detail to get things right first time;
•Ability to manage own time and comfortable working both within a team or alone to tight deadlines;
•Detailed knowledge of UK heritage legislation and policy;
•Experience of undertaking heritage assessment and EIA / EIS work;
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
•Full UK driving licence;
•Flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of the role, including occasional working away from home.

Preferred Qualifications Candidates will have:
•A relevant first degree and/or post-graduate qualification in archaeology or a related subject;
• Appropriate level of membership of a relevant professional body.
