Senior Vendor Manager, Video Games

Amazon’s Video Games team is looking for a talented Senior Vendor Manager to take responsibility for managing top brands, category growth objectives and initiatives across the EU to increase Amazon's presence with core gamers. You will play a key role in helping us achieve our growth objectives by delivering a step change in performance, improving the customer offer, expanding product selection and deepening relationships with some of our largest suppliers in the UK. The SVM will have people management responsibility and be accountable for the performance of their own vendors as well as the work of their team. We expect the SVM to be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven ability to negotiate complex business terms, develop and manage relationships, drive results and demonstrate competency with business and financial analytics. The SVM must be an effective leader and communicator in working with some of Amazon’s most important partners and vendors, as well as with internal cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail, a high level of flexibility and commitment and experience in leading people.

A successful Senior Vendor Manager must be able to:
· Manage relationships with some of our largest vendors and set and drive strategic priorities such as Lifecycle Management planning, profitability, cross functional marketing planning, and optimising logistics set ups to deliver lower landed costs
· Plan and deliver annual and ongoing terms negotiation improvements
· Manage and develop talent of direct reports and help to hire and develop the best across the broader VG team
· Build and manage promotional, bundling and attach strategy for your vendors, deliver product differentiation for customers and analyse and communicate vendor performance.
· Monitor and research industry and competitive trends to make sure that Amazon is offering the best for the customer.
· Lead or input Strategic Vendor Services projects encompassing customer insight and engagement objectives
· Work on major product launches across all Amazon marketing and merchandising initiative (Amazon Media Group, Franchise teams, cross-category, central marketing, etc.)
· Lead strategic projects to increase customer awareness and engagement in VG (including Twitch, VG customer events) in the UK and Pan EU, improve process efficiency internally, and lead joint business planning with vendors
· Seek out ways to automate & simplify manual processes in order to improve productivity


· Professional experience including commercial negotiation, gained within major organisations in e-commerce or retail, key account management or consulting envinronment
· Outstanding analytical skills, as demonstrated through prior roles held, and experience in P&L management, planning and forecasting.
· Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas, with ability to audit and correctly correct when issues arise.
· Demonstrable experience leading and managing a team
· Proven ability to influence others in a business setting
· Strong commercial acumen, a business focused way of thinking and a strong hands-on, results-driven mentality
· Strong communication skills (written and verbal), specifically excellent English communication skills
· University degree from top ranked institution


· Relevant category experience in the Video Games/CE/Media sector
· Excellent marketing skills, a feel for customer needs, as well as a high degree of innovative prowess
· Excellent knowledge of Excel and database work, with experience in SQL as a plus
· MBA from leading business school beneficial
· Commercial/ Buying experience
