About the Business Line Government
AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. Job Summary
AECOM is now hiring qualified Gunsmith II to perform work in Dülmen Germany in support of APS-2.

Gunsmith can design, fabricate, modify, repair and service foreign and domestic firearms, weapons and accessories. This position will work on external/internal and terminal ballistics; build custom pistols and rifles, as well as other types of weapons systems with minimal supervision. usually requires attendance at factory Armorer's courses of small arms in the arms room inventory, performs major repairs on foreign and domestic standard and non-standard small arms weapons, can build either custom pistols or rifles with little or no supervision, possesses excellent knowledge of gun-smiting tools and procedures, and possesses moderate knowledge of firearms operating principles and ballistics.

Essential Responsibilities:
Perform detailed assembly and disassembly of foreign and domestic small arms weapons including small arms inspection, maintenance, and minor repairs.
Performs ammo inventory and residue turn-in, publication and catalogue updates, tool and capital equipment maintenance, calibration control, weapons cleaning and organizational level weapons maintenance.
Design, fabricate, modify, repair and service foreign and domestic firearms, weapons and accessories and is capable of designing computer prototypes from customer input, has necessary knowledge of munitions and ballistics to accomplish assigned tasks.
Possesses knowledge of the tools (i.e. hammers, punches, files, stones, etc.) and gauges needed to perform assigned duties, has limited knowledge in the operation of gun-smiting machinery such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, etc., as well as limited knowledge of tooling used with those machines.
Has knowledge of basic shop safety procedures needed to work in a small arms environment, performs support functions for the shop, to include bead blasting and preparing metal parts for refinishing.

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Requires knowledge in the use of hand tools, machine tools, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties, has the knowledge and skill to design and construct prototype small arms from drawings or customer input. Qualification for this position usually requires attendance at a formal one to two year accredited in-house gun-smiting course, or equivalent work experience. Training and related experience in the field consistent with the requirements set forth in the contract/delivery order. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
