Public Health/Environmental Services Engineer, London

Environmental Services Engineer to work with multidisciplinary teams as discipline lead engineer on a variety of projects including the Commercial, Science & Industry, Data centres, residential and Financial services sectors in the UK and Worldwide.

Role

The role involves input through all stages of a project from feasibility through to site completion. The role also includes technical reviews and guidance for younger engineers. The engineer would be expected to have achieved a professional qualification or demonstrate the equivalent level of profession knowledge and experience and skills and to perform at a senior engineer. The engineer should be able to show that they keep up to date professionally and technically with existing and new technology. They should be skilled in the use of software packages that assist them in their role. They should be comfortable and relaxed working with Signature Architects from sketch design to project completion.

The role will involve:

• Environmental Services Engineering design
• Working with multi-disciplinary teams
• Design management
• Co-ordinating tasks for others
• Training and Mentoring
• Client liaison and presentation
• Bidding support and delivery
• Working with a variety of Architects and Clients

Responsibilities include:

• Drainage and Sanitary Plumbing systems
• Water Services Systems
• Natural Gas systems
• Fire Protection systems
• Sustainable design
• Concept, Scheme Design Report preparation
• Tender documentation preparation
• Specification preparation
• ESE software use
• Team management
• Design management
• Client and external team liaison

We require:

• Professionally qualified or demonstrate equivalent level of profession knowledge, experience and skills
• Knowledge of current regulations including Building Regulations, Standards and Good Practice Guidance
• Knowledge and experience of ESE services across a variety of projects and sectors
• Knowledge of BREEAM, LEED and Sustainable design

The candidate should be:

• Comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• A knowledge of working with digital tools such as revit and a desire to develop the use of these tools
• Able to work with a wide variety of Clients and Architects
• Capable of delivering Team and Client presentations
• Able to deliver technical design solutions to meet Client expectations
• Supportive of junior staff and able to share experience with others
• Capable of recognising opportunities during networking events and developing them into future work.
• Able to liaise with contractors, experienced in checking site installations and producing snagging lists.
