About the Business Line Water
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
We have an excellent opportunity for an Engineer to join our busy Development Infrastructure team in St Albans. The team tackles a wide variety of projects located both in the UK and overseas. We are routinely involved in the engineering aspect of masterplanning major development schemes, developing infrastructure strategies and taking these through planning and detailed design to construction. This is an ideal opportunity for a suitably experienced Engineer to develop their career and assist in the technical direction and future development of this team.

Role:
•Work under the direction of the Senior or Principal Engineer.
•Assist in the preparation of the technical feasibility/design for development projects in the disciplines of foul and surface water drainage, SuDS, roads, flooding, utilities and earthworks.
•Prepare Flood Risk Assessment reports incorporating Sustainable Drainage (SuDS) strategies, to NPPF and local standards.
•As necessary liaise with the project team and represent Development Infrastructure internally and externally at an appropriate level.
•Carry out work in accordance with the project brief and to agreed programme.
•Prepare technical reports, specifications, calculations and drawings.
•Comply with statutory, project and AECOM-specific health and safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements
•3 years’ post-graduate experience of infrastructure design projects with proven track record of delivery.
•Knowledge and experience of some or all of the following disciplines: Foul Water Drainage, Surface Water Drainage, SuDS, Utilities Co-ordination, Highways, Earthworks and Flood Risk Assessment.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to liaise directly with our Clients.
•Ability to work collaboratively as part of large multi-disciplinary project teams.
•Experience of liaising with local authorities, water and utility companies, Environment Agency and other public bodies.
•Computer software literate including MSWord, MSExcel, Microdrainage, AutoCAD and Civil3D at intermediate level.
•Commitment to developing technical knowledge and skills.

Preferred Qualifications
•MEng, BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering
•Working towards chartered status, membership of appropriate institute (MICE or MCIHT).
