Join Thales Alenia Space as a Production Manager (Avionics / Mechanics), to play a key role in the next generation of space platforms that we are developing. The suitable individual will be responsible for day to day technical management of satellite building for both avionics and mechanics. You will be the technical leader for avionics activities of the satellite for all the phases of the project : sub-system, system and launch campaign as well as preparing, organising and managing all mechanical integration activities.

This is a full time, permanent position based in Harwell, Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Supervisor of the Electrical Test, making sure that quality, personal security and product integrity rules are followed.
• During the preparation phase, in charge of the definition, the procurement and the preparation of AIT test equipment’s on the project: responsible for the specifications and processes related electric domain.
• Review design to take into account AIT constraints
• Review design, in order to verify the coherence between equipment nomenclature
• Verification of the processes used during the project and management.
• Identification and/or definition of specific tool requirements (tools, protections) and if equipment mock-up is needed for mechanical integration activities. Then follow-up of the procurement of hardware.
• During the operation phase, ensure the application of the instructions given during the daily meeting and the coordinate’s daily activities.
• During the satellite AIT operation phase, drives all the activities related to tests done on the satellite.
• Interface with Engineering during the design phase and participate to Change Committees, update documents as a resulting from the desired change
• Preparation, scheduling and coordination of activities. This will consider costs planning to recover delays;
• Validates the test results and reports
• Takes part in NCR analysis.
• Brings expertise to the operational teams on the EGSE implementation.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Engineering Degree or similar experience
• Technical management experience of Avionics and Mechanics within the satellite environment
• Experience within a Space Assembly Integration and Test environment.
• Experience in technical proposal preparation would be an asset
• Experience of working in a multi-discipline team environment
• Experience of working closely with customers, partners and suppliers
