About the Business Line Environment
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary Our Environment team in Croydon (and Wimbledon) is currently looking for a Senior Consultant who would bring experience and competence to the winning and delivery of a wide range of projects mostly within the south-east but with scope to work further afield. Projects range from large infrastructure schemes such as the liquid natural gas facility on the north Kent coast, a number of highway and rail projects through a substantial residential development at Arborfield, Berkshire to niche property developments in the city of London. The Team provides skills to projects in AECOM’s Croydon office as well as other offices, which currently include tunneling, remediation and nuclear schemes.

The post involves providing arboriculture and ecological expertise associated with our current range of projects thereby expanding our offer to clients and in developing new tree work and supporting our existing UK Arboriculture Team, especially those based in Basingstoke.

We are looking for an ambitious team player with strong development skills who wishes to assist in the development of innovative, cost effective and appropriate solutions in an environment that is collaborative, stimulating and demanding. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the Job / Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard
Working as part of the existing network of AECOM arboricultural and ecological specialists within the UK and Ireland;
Assisting on winning a wide range of arboricultural and ecological work;
Supporting internal clients with delivering arboricultural and ecological requirements within multi-disciplinary tenders and projects;

Minimum Requirements
A detailed understanding and knowledge of arboriculture, including experience of undertaking arboricultural field surveys for development schemes in the UK, including residential, commercial and infrastructure projects;
Arboricultural Association qualified to Level 3 (minimum);
Be able to demonstrate a detailed understanding and knowledge of ecology, including experience of undertaking ecological surveys for European Protected Species;
Have a good knowledge and understanding of current wildlife legislation;
Have previous work experience in a similar role;

Preferred Qualifications To include at least some of the following:
A degree in an environmental sciences or biological sciences related area, preferably with a Masters degree in such a topic;
Membership of CIEEM or another relevant professional institution;
