UX Design Manager - Global Talent Management

We are seeking a talented and passionate User Experience Manager to join our Global Talent Management team in Edinburgh, Scotland, and oversee our growing UX and design function. You will be highly motivated with proven management, user interface, experience and visual design skills, and have created elegant, intuitive user interfaces that meet business needs and influence future product direction. You will have strong creative and technical ability, a focus on the customer experience, great teamwork and communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

You will work as part of an Agile team at our development centre in Edinburgh, Scotland, launching and growing new talent management initiatives for Amazon's global workforce. Your team will own the business, technology and operations, giving you the responsibility and authority to ensure success. You will be involved in every aspect of the process - from idea generation, paper mockups testing, wireframe creation, through to final high-fidelity design and implementation.

You will have extensive experience as a user experience manager and, ideally worked previous as a designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role.You will have a portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions, including rich interaction design.


· Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
· Proficiency in a variety of low and high fidelity design tools such as Sketch, Axure, Photoshop, Illustrator, Balsamiq.
· Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
· Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
· Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
· Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for the web and web-based devices.
· Visual design expertise demonstrated through high fidelity mockups and style guides.
· Strong written and verbal English communications skills


Experience with any of the following strongly regarded:
· Experience designing rich interactive experiences, particularly large and complex web applications
· Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, including the use of libraries such as React, jQuery, Bootstrap
· Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g. conducting usability studies, performing user research)
· Mobile and tablet interaction design, including responsive design and gesture-based UIs
· An understanding of video/motion/animation creation and tools (e.g. After Effects, Final Cut)
