Program Manager - Network Operations, Amazon Logistics

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to support the UK Operations & Last Mile Delivery network.

The successful candidate will be part of the team responsible for program managing strategic large scale cross functional operations projects and new project initiatives. Programs will include partnering with real estate, engineering, IT and other stakeholders to help expand the network of Amazon Logistics nodes in the UK to facilitate the organization’s growth plans, and other cross functional Supply Chain, Transportation, Engineering & Infrastructure initiatives.

The work of this team will include facilitation of approval from functional leaders, project prioritization & scheduling and resource allocation efficiently and effectively. You will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable supporting large, complex cross functional projects.

You will have a true hands-on approach, strong project management skills, and be an effective communicator. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control.

Key Job Responsibilities:
· To maximize entitlement for AMZL through effective alignment of CPT’s versus Commercial Carriers.
· To align the arrival profile into the DS and to look for further opportunities to improve efficiency.
· To review the sort lane configuration and volumes at FC’s and propose improvements to drive efficiency/cost reductions.
· To review SC flows/configuration and propose improvements to drive efficiency/cost reductions.
· To manage initiative changes ie DD to ensure minimal impact on service or cost for AMZL.
· To work closely with FC’s, ATS, Supply Change and Network Optimisation teams on Change management process.
· To work with the AMZL Ops teams to identify solutions and impacts of proposed changes.
· To manage clear and timely communication of changes affecting AMZL to the Ops teams.
· To build a network peak plan incorporating CPT and Sort lane changes that achieves 6pm start sort in DS’s, a constant supply of work with zero down time and supports a CIT to ensure 1st wave time out.
· To build a plan towards continuous flow to allow maximum DS asset utilization and 2nd / 3rd Cycles.
· To build, review and own individual DS yard plans for inbound, outbound, DA & DP movements across the 24 hours.

Please note - this role will require the successful candidate to travel frequently across the London, South and wider UK network, interfacing daily with operational, front line logistics teams and third party suppliers.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in an operational and hands on Program Management role. They will be passionate about operating at the coal face of the business to both develop and importantly execute complex business programs, whilst also displaying the following experience:
· Bachelors Degree or equivalent
· Experience of working within a logistics, transportation, supply chain or parcels environment
· Experience operating successfully in an individual contributor capacity
· Proven experience operating as a Program or Project Manager in a high growth, operational and complex business
· Exceptional organizational skills and ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively and problem-solve
· Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills
· Experience leading and interacting with cross-functional teams
· Strong executive presentation skills
· Ability to travel in the UK
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel, SAP, Cognos and SQL


· MBA, MS or MA (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or Equivalent
