About the Business Line Building Engineering
We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. We embed sustainability principles in every design.

Job Summary The Transmission and Distribution division within the Energy sector requires the services of a suitably qualified and experienced senior electrical engineer in the Centurion office. The individual will be responsible for Transmission and Distribution as well as Water treatment plant projects within the Africa geography. The Energy business line is constantly receiving requests from other business lines to assist with their current and future assignments. This recruitment is also in line with our goal to build capacity in order to better service internal and external clients and win new external work.

The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Pre-feasibility studies, conceptual designs and detailed design involving the following:
Small power and lighting.
Power generation balance of plant systems.
Outdoor and indoor MV and HV Switchgear.
MV and LV motors and motor control centres (MCCs).
Standby diesel generators and emergency power systems.
Load lists, diversification and load lists, voltage drops, derating for cabling sizing.
SCADA, instrumentation and control.
Power factor correction and capacitor banks.

Minimum Requirements Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant post-graduate working experience in the following:
At least 3 years of specific electrical Building services and water treatment plants.
Knowledge of AUTOCAD (2D and 3D) and/or Micro station is a MUST.
Outdoor and indoor MV & LV Switchgear.
MV&LV motors.
Motor starters and motor control centres.
Standby diesel generators and Gas driven generators.
Street lighting.
SCADA, instrumentation and control.
Power factor correction and capacitor banks.
Variable speed drives.
Battery tripping units.

Other Comments:
The candidate will be required to attend regular project site meetings and factory acceptance tests (FATs) as well as conduct site inspections and provide commissioning support to clients/contractors on site.
The candidate must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications University degree in Electrical Engineering (MSc. Degree will be an advantage).
Professional registration (Pr.Eng) with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
