Plant Controller - Sanford, NC

Role Purpose
Responsible for all site financial reporting and accounting functions for 3 distinct operations operating under 1 site. Lead, plan, direct and control the site’s finance and accounting functions to create a solid control environment. Business partner and key member of site management team providing business support and strategic direction. Support the Site Director in leading the organization towards achievement of agreed targets. Ensure that accounting principles, governance guidelines, legal requirements and other instructions from the Group and Division are implemented and respected.

Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Governance

Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and financial results are accurately reported in compliance with established guidelines and directives. Direct timely remediation and execution of identified issues.
Create the appropriate control environment, standardizing processes and ensuring information systems deliver accounting integrity.
Support internal and external audits by providing timely, transparent and accurate responses to auditors.


Participate as integral part of the plant management team through leadership meetings, communication meetings, analysis of plant metrics and trends, plant reporting, physical inventory and plant safety initiatives.

Provide financial leadership and unbiased, data-driven analysis for future plant initiatives
which may include: new product launches, productivity projects, make vs. buy analysis, and capital investment decisions.
Explain and interpret financial results compared to plan and forecast, prepare causal analysis of variances, answer ad hoc questions, and troubleshoot accounting issues for plant management.
Support annual physical stock takes and periodic cycle counts of Direct, Indirect, Tooling and Fixed Asset Inventories to ensure accuracy and integrity of counts.
Evaluate, analyze and assist in the preparation of capital expenditure requests.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance

CMA/ACA or MBD/MFS preferred

Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge, and Skills


Significant working experience in the accounting environment of a manufacturing organization with full P&L reporting responsibilities. Demonstrated career growth including cost accounting and financial analysis. Significant experience in internal controls, operational performance analysis, inventory control and ERP systems Personal Attributes High integrity. Strong communication & interpersonal skills, with ability to work well with others, focus on long-term goals and provide leadership to support site staff. Self motivated - Must be capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to work at detail and macro level. Ability to conduct business in the English language.

Automotive industry and experience with QAD/Mfg Pro experience preferred. Advanced PC skills including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & Word. Able to independently prioritize to meet tight, multiple deadlines and handle various projects and tasks. Succinctly articulate business and accounting issues to finance and non-finance audiences alike at all levels within the organization.
